Robert Weyman Jenkins

MR. WEYMAN JENKINS Mr. Weyman Jenkins, 68, of Grantville, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Blair Tolbert will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Friday night. Mr. Jenkins was born August 25, 1943, in Newnan, son of the late R. W. (Bob) Jenkins and Rachel Shaddix Jenkins, and was a lifelong resident of Grantville. He served 13 years at Newnan Utilities as commission secretary, served 10 years as city manager for Grantville, and served 12 years on the board of Directors of the City County Employee Credit Union. He served more than 20 years as a member of the Coweta County Development Authority and also served as a member of the Coweta County Library System Board of Trustees. Mr. Jenkins was a long-time Little League coach, was a member and former treasurer of the First United Methodist Church of Grantville, and served many years as chairman of the Grantville Cemetery Trust. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Jenkins of Grantville; sister and brother in-law, Mary Jane and Wayne Flournoy of Luthersville; brother and sister in-law, Ron and Karen Jenkins of Cartersville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Weyman (Robbie) Jenkins, Jr. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
