Mr. Robert Ellis (Bob) Irvin, 57, of Hogansville, passed away, Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Irvin was born May 4, 1959, in Hogansville, son of the late Alvin and Marvolene Bradley Irvin. A 1979 graduate of Hogansville High School, he was employed at Yamaha Manufacturing in Newnan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hogansville, where he served as a deacon, AWANA leader, Sunday School teacher, bus driver and member of the Men's Ministry. Since the age of 15, he had served as a volunteer firefighter for the Hogansville and Troup County Fire Departments. Bob loved the Lord, First Baptist Church and its children, the fire service, and golf, and especially loved all of his nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers in-law, Beth and Tony Maxwell of Hogansville, Cathy and Phil Kelley of Chickamauga; brother and sister in-law, Terry and Anna Irvin of Bowdon; sister in-law, Gail Irvin of Newnan; nieces and nephews, Joanie Irvin, Katie Costlow, Brad Irvin, Cliff Irvin, Joy Coker, Sarah Janney, Kendra Palmer, Candi Kelley, Drew Kelley; great-nieces and nephews, Xavier, Dylan, Jayden, Lila Joseph, Kamien, Lexi, Abby Addy, Drew, Eddie Shawn, Justin, Mylee, Veronica; aunts and uncle, Elaine Bradley, Aliene and Gene White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Irvin, and nephew, Kenny Irvin.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at First Baptist Church of Hogansville. Dr. Clinton Hughes will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 Saturday night and 12 until 2 Sunday afternoon.
