MR. BOBBY HAMMETT
Mr. Robert J. (Bobby) Hammett, 79, of Riverdale, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Southern Crescent Hospital for Specialty Care in Riverdale.
Mr. Hammett was born September 15, 1935, in Heard County, son of the late J. B. and Kate Kee Hammett. A veteran of service in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, he had lived in Clayton County since 1964 and retired from Alignment and Frame Services in East Point. Mr. Hammett was a Mason and a Shriner, where he served in the motorcycle unit and won a number of trophies in the southeast division.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lenore Hammett of Riverdale; daughters, Holly Campbell and her husband Greg of Lake Spivey and Heather Polson of McDonough; grandchildren, Sydney Polson, Katelyn Polson and Cole Campbell; and brothers, Perk Hammett and Allen Hammett, both of Hogansville.
The memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Hinton Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 Sunday afternoon.
