Mr. Robert M. Dodds, 88, of Luthersville, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at Ansley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Newnan.
Mr. Dodds was born October 30, 1930, in Luthersville, son of the late Marion and Irene Chambless Dodds. A U.S. Army Signal Corps veteran of the Korean War, he retired from Bellsouth, now AT&T, after many years of service and then was actively involved in the operation of Dodds Logging Company. Mr. Dodds was a longtime member of Providence Primitive Baptist Church.
He was a big part of a large family and is survived by his wife, Doris Dodds of Luthersville; his children, Deborah Dodds Murphy and her husband Robert of Lawrenceville, Marion Robert Dodds and his wife Lisa, John W. Dodds and his late wife Rhonda, Delanie S. Williamson and her husband Ben, all of Luthersville; seven grandchildren, Robert and Summer Murphy of Clayton, Jeremy and Gina Dodds of Luthersville, Jessica and Super Phillips of Greenville, Amber and Mark Dodds of Luthersville, Danyale and David Evans of Cedartown, Benji Williamson, Joe and Kimmy Williamson of Luthersville; sixteen great-grandchildren, Mason, Colton, Levi, Katelyn, Michaela, Cheyanne, Olivia, Lilly, Lainee, Ryder, Jace, Maddie, Maelee, Dejah, Austin, Westin, Camden and Logan.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 26, at the graveside in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, with Elder Chris Hill officiating.
