MR. ROBERT L. W. CARDIN Mr. Robert L. W. "Bob" Cardin, 80, of Grantville, died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Richard Campbell will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Mr. Cardin was born March 27, 1933, in Atlanta, son of the late Alonzo Latham and Jessie Hamby Cardin Latham. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he lived in Morrow before making his home in Grantville in 1980, and retired from Dover Elevator Company. He was a member of Grantville First United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and member of the finance and parsonage committees, and was a former Boy Scout leader and member of the Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Cardin; daughters, Penni Cardin Chilton, Cindy Cardin Tucker and her husband, Scott, all of Grantville; sister, Jessie "Tootsie" McIntyre of Austell; grandchildren, Cletus Chilton, Amanda Chilton, Kati Chilton, Stephen Ford, Adam Tucker, Jessica Tucker; great-grandchildren, Rachel Newman, Sydney Newman, Brystal Duncan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gertrude Mauldin and Emily Hunter; and brothers, Avery Smith and Travis Latham. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grantville First United Methodist Church. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Monday night, December 30th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31st, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan
