Robbin R. Butler

Mrs. Robbin R. Butler, 69, of Douglasville, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital.

Mrs. Butler was born October 25, 1955, in Troup County, daughter of the late John Robert Robinson and Frances Beall Robinson. A 1973 graduate of Hogansville High School, was a graduate of the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing in Atlanta, and was employed as a registered nurse for 46 years prior to her retirement.

She first worked at HCA-Parkway Regional Hospital for 18 years, where she served as the first nursing director of the Cath Lab and served on the team when medical records were converted from paper to digital. She was then employed at Wellstar Douglas Hospital until her retirement, where she served in the ICU, in the Cardiac Cath Lab, as the Overhouse Supervisor, and on the Rapid Response Team.

Robbin was a dedicated nurse, who loved the work that she did, the patients she served, and the people that she worked with. She was a mentor to countless nurses and medical technicians.

Survivors include her husband, Hank Butler of Douglasville; brothers and sister in-law, Mike and Debbie Able of LaGrange, Randy Able of Greenville; mother in-law, Betty Butler and sister in-law, Harriett and Travis Marquess, all of Gambrell, MD; brother in-law, Bobby Lewis of Temple; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kagan Chase Butler.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Dr. Richard Hanner officiating. Private interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.
