Ricky L. Barnes

Mr. Ricky L. Barnes, 64, of Bothell, Washington and a former resident of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the home of his brother in Duluth. Mr. Barnes was born March 4, 1952, in Newnan, son of the late Melvin C. Barnes and the late Barbara Howard Barnes Lipsey. A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, he had lived in Washington for 38 years and retired from the Hewlett-Packard Company. Survivors include his wife, Linda Schroeder Barnes of Bothell; sister, Pat Hamill of LaGrange; brothers, Ronald Barnes of Grantville, Tim Barnes of Duluth; and his uncle, Charles Barnes of Hogansville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard E. Barnes, who passed away on September 12. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 5 Saturday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
