MR. RICHARD F. SMITH Mr. Richard F. Smith, 70, of Grantville, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Tommy McLeroy will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 Saturday night. Born January 17, 1942, in Coweta County, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Otis Levi Smith and the late Cora Inez Crider Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Coweta County, was a member of the Baptist church, and retired as bulk distribution manager for Davis Oil Co. in Newnan. He loved hunting and fishing, was an avid golfer, and especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Survivors include his wife, Judith Smith of Grantville; daughters and sons in-law, Denise and Johnny Thacker of Newnan, Melinda and Tom Staley of Greenville; sons and daughter in-law, Ricky and Lisa Smith of Grantville, Chris Smith of Newnan; sisters, Rosie Fallon of Grantville, Mary Ellen Gosdin of LaGrange; brother, Otis Smith of Grantville and the late J. C. Smith; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 5 until 8 Saturday evening, November 3rd, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 4th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Grantville Cemetery
