Mrs. Rebecca Ann Adkins Dickerson Cooke, 76, of LaFayette, AL, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hospice LaGrange.
“Becky” was born December 16, 1949, in Vienna, Georgia, daughter of the late Leo Turner Adkins and Billie Francis Nichols Adkins. A resident of LaGrange for most of her life, she spent her early years living in South Georgia, later moving to Thomaston, Georgia where she married Thomas Gerald Dickerson in 1967. After his death in 1968, she remained in Thomaston, later marrying Carlton Bruce Cooke. She would spend the next 57 years raising and caring for her four children, followed by seven of her 21 grandchildren, teaching through example what it meant to be selfless, resilient and strong. Her sacrifices shaped generations and her influence will live on through the lives she nurtured and the values she instilled.
All who knew her knew of her extraordinary culinary skills, her gift for gardening, love of horticulture, game shows, soap operas, and Alabama Crimson Tide football.
She leaves behind her daughters, Tonya Caldwell (Billy) of Pell City, AL, Heather Thomas of West Point, Ashlee Facille (Mark) of LaGrange; son Carlton Bruce Cooke, Jr. of Arkansas; step-son, Stacy Cooke of Woodbury; grandchildren, Tommy Caldwell, Matthew Caldwell, Laura Houchins (Matthew), Taylor Lynch (Kayla), Erin Thomas-Steele (Brent), Christopher Thomas, Kolbi Bright (Caleb), Jada Poe (Brandon), Kayli Satterwhite (Alan), Brittany Wilson (Jacob), Marlee Facille, Jaden Cooke (Bailey), Carli Cooke, Kyler Cooke, Katelynn Cooke, Carson Cooke, Sean Cooke, Travis Facille, Chloe Facille, Rebecca Cooke, Savannah Cooke; and 28 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her former husband, Carlton Bruce Cooke; her best friend of 30+ years, Debra Traylor; and extended family members.
Becky will be truly missed and remembered for her fierce love, quiet strength, and the countless ways she put others before herself.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
