Ray Crawford

MR. RAY CRAWFORD Mr. Ray Crawford, 73 of Manchester, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2022, at his home. Born September 13, 1948 in Sevierville, TN, Mr. Crawford was the son of the late Walter Edward Crawford and Imogene Perlie Hurst Crawford. He worked for many years as an engineer in the oil industry. Because of his ability to fix anything, Mr. Crawford started Crawford Mechanical when he moved to the West Georgia area in 1983. He loved the everything outdoors, from snow skiing to fishing, and was an "avid collector". Survivors include his children, Sharon Crawford (Keith Cato) of Manchester, Chris Crawford (Darlene) of Warm Springs, and Jennifer Crawford Johnson of LaGrange; brother, Johnny Crawford (Star) of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Jan Gideon (Don) of Sevierville, TN and Maranda Johnson (Ed) of TN; 8 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Crawford. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, with the Reverend David Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 Saturday afternoon.
