Rae Eason Smith

Rae Eason Smith, 69, of Griffin, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at her home. Ms. Smith was born February 5, 1951, in Atlanta, daughter of the late Emory Allen Eason, Jr, and Joyce Robertson Eason. A resident of Hogansville from 1969 until 1976, she lived in the Atlanta area most of her life and was employed as a property manager for many years prior to her retirement. Survivors include her brothers, Knute Eason of Carrollton, Paul Eason of Tennessee, and Wayne Eason of Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Corey Allen McKibben; her brothers, Allen Eason and Mike Eason; her former husband and the father of Corey, Claude McKibben, Jr.; and her former husband, K.D. Smith. A memorial service is not being planned and her cremated remains will be interred beside her son, Corey, in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, and beside her former husband, K.D., in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, Texas. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
