MRS. RACHEL B. SMITH Mrs. Rachel Bussey Smith, 98, of Hogansville, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at LaGrange Nursing and Rehab. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Frank Sledge will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Born December 9, 1910, in Heard county, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Ewell and Vonie Carden Bussey. She had lived in Hogansville since 1925, where she was a member of Highland Baptist Church and had been active in the Hogansville Senior Center. She retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 23 years of service. Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, Wayne and Jean Smith of Warner Robins and Danny and Joan Smith of Marietta; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey J. Smith, and her son, Ronald Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 407 Askew Ave, Hogansville, GA 30230. The Claude A.
