Phyllis Briley Shoup

Mrs. Phyllis Briley Shoup, 79, of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Mrs. Shoup was born August 5, 1944, in Quincy, Illinois, daughter of the late Louis Franklin Briley and Ida Mae Austendorf Briley. A former resident of Louisiana, she had lived in Georgia for the past 37 years and retired as a nursing assistant and home health aide. She had been active in the Heard County Senior Center and had been a member of New Life Worship Center in Franklin.

Survivors include her daughter, Annie Wright of Conneaut, OH; step-children, Tammie Lines of Clebourne, TX, and Billy Noble of Canton, MO; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Briley and sister, April Feller, both of New Iberia, LA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Edgar Devon Shoup; son, Tony Angelo; daughter, Phyllis Stephens; and brother, Chris Bailey.

A memorial service is not being planned at this time.
