Pearl Brock Smith

Mrs. Pearl Brock Smith, 90, of Grantville, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born January 1, 1931, in Leslie County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ingram and Fannie Morgan Brock. A former resident of Forest Park, she had lived in Grantville for forty years and was a very active member of Union Baptist Church in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County. She was employed by Wal-Mart for thirteen years prior to her retirement, and wrote a column for The Meriwether Vindicator known as "Pearl's Corner." Survivors include her daughter, Edwina Lynn Williams of Grantville; her son, Leon Clark of Luthersville; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Dixon Smith. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Bill Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
