Paulette Crumbley Brooks

Paulette Rudine Crumbley Brooks, 80 years old, of Barnesville, GA passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus on May 19, 2026.

She was welcomed into eternity by the love of her life, her loving husband Joe Brooks, Jr.; her oldest daughter, Angela Gayle McCullough; her parents, Paul Andrew Crumbley and Nadine Thrower Crumbley; and sisters, Rachel Browning, Deloise Browning, and Joyce Shaw.

She is survived by her children, Joe Brooks, III (Dana Brooks), Anita Petty (Darrell Petty), Crystal Born (Steve Born); grandchildren, Eric McCullough, Shelby Brooks, Jordan Willis, Joshua Smith, Lindsey Smith, DJ Petty, Joshua Petty, Ciara Petty, Danielle Sloan, Jacob Yearwood, Alana Yearwood, Angelena Born, Jasmine Born; 19 great-grandchildren, sisters, Yvonne Hay, Pam Cumbie and many nieces and nephews.

Paulette was born on August 25,1945 in Hogansville, GA. She married her soulmate, Joe Brooks, Jr., on December 2, 1961. While she worked briefly early in life, she dedicated her life to being a loving wife and caring for her children and all of her “babies”. She loved the Lord and was a light to everyone she met. While she will be deeply missed here, we find peace knowing she is finally home and we will be reunited one day.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, prior to the service.
