Paul Jackson Bates

Mr. Paul Jackson Bates, 62, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Bates was born September 8, 1958, in Troup County, son of the late Earl Frank Bates and Mary Frances Arrington Bates. A resident of LaGrange most of his life, he was a retired heavy equipment operator and had been employed in road construction. He was Baptist by faith, enjoyed fishing, and loved being with his family and friends. Survivors include his step-children, Gene Howard, Roger Howard, Lynn Bowen and Jessica Lore; a number of step-grandchildren; sisters, Earlene Bowen and Tina Eaton; brother, Clyde Bates; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Bates. The family will plan a memorial gathering to celebrate his life. Claude A.
