Mrs. Patricia Bendus, age 81 of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Born April 24, 1945, in Logansport, Indiana, Mrs. Bendus was the daughter of the late Edward Charles Humes and Nellie Marie Campbell Humes. She was a dedicated military wife and mother of four daughters and her role as a military wife took her to Newfoundland Canada, San Antonio, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska. Her military days fostered a love for traveling, and even after the tragic passing of her husband, road trips and rides in the country always brought her great joy. Mrs. Bendus loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with them was a bright spot in her life. A devout Catholic, her spiritual beliefs provided a North Star for the trials she faced in this life. For years she put her faith into action by supporting Love a Child Ministries serving the children of Haiti. She also enjoyed helping those with food insecurities in her local community.

Survivors include her daughters, Darla (Matt) Williams of Fort Myers, FL, Michele Nichols of Newnan, Anna (Joe) Falkenbach of LaGrange, and Amy Harcrow of Hogansville; sister, Robyn Nelson of Miamisburg, OH; brother, Larry Humes and Jim Craig of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Holly (Josh) Hanchey, Ashley (Gary) Clark, Joseph Falkenbach, Jennifer Williams, Daniel Falkenbach, Jacob (Hannah) Nichols; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan Hanchey, Abigail Clark, and Hannah Hanchey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
