Mr. Oscar Alvarado, 86, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Alvarado was born October 19, 1939, in Rowena, Texas, son of the late Jose Alvarado and Guadalupe Gaitan Alvarado. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he retired from Kimberly-Clark Corporation in LaGrange and was a member and deacon of The Pentecostal Church of LaGrange. Mr. Alvarado enjoyed playing golf and watching Gunsmoke and other westerns, was a supporter of the Georgia Sheriff’s Association, and loved to joke around with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Alvarado; daughters, Tina Alvarado and Angela Alvarado (Chad Scott), all of LaGrange; sons, Jerry Alvarado of Flint, MI and Scotty Alvarado of LaGrange; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Hilda, Elvira, Linda, Elodia, and Olga; brother, David; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Rocky Alvarado and Bobby Alvarado; granddaughter, Rosa Alvarado; and son in-law, Wayne King.
The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 31, at The Pentecostal Church of LaGrange, with the Reverend Phillip Murray officiating. The family will greet friends at the church.
