MR. OLIVER STRICKLAND Mr. Oliver Strickland, 77, of Hogansville, died Thursday, June 3, 2010, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend James Calhoun and the Reverend Horice Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Primrose Community of Meriwether County, with Masonic graveside rites. Mr. Strickland was born October 11, 1932, in Centralhatchee, son of the late Roy and Kate Adams Strickland. A Marine veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Bingham Masonic Lodge in Moreland, attended Family Worship Center in Hogansville, and was retired from Meriwether County. Survivors include daughters and sons in-law, Lillian and Roy Drake and Charlene and Ronnie Bruce, all of Hogansville, and Judy Wade of Moreland; son and daughter in-law, Tim and Criss Moore of Hogansville; sister, Christine Boynton of Turin; brothers, Merlin Strickland of Chattahoochee Hills and Calvin Strickland of Vero Beach, FL; ten grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Smith Strickland. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 9 Friday night, June 4th, and Saturday night, June 5th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Mt. Zion Cemetery in the Primrose Community of Meriwether County
