MR. OLIVER HARRINGTON Mr. Oliver Harrington, 88, of Hogansville, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Florence Hand Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, at the graveside in Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Troup County, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night. Mr. Harrington was born July 25, 1922, in Laurens County, son of the late John and Alma Collins Harrington. An Army veteran of World War Two, he lived in Troup County most of his life and owned and operated Harrington Grocery in the Louise Community for many years before his retirement. He gave the land, named the church, and was a deacon and founding member of Springhill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Harrington; daughter and son in-law, Sara and Bill Parrish; son and daughter in-law, James and Cynthia Harrington, all of Hogansville; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Sunday night, May 8th, at Claude A.
