Odell Bates Scott

MRS. ODELL B. SCOTT Mrs. Odell Bates Scott, 85, of LaGrange, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, July 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brad Thompson will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Sunday. Born May 5, 1926, in Troup County, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bertha Wilson Bates. She was a lifelong resident of Troup County, retired from Callaway Mills Co., and had attended Faith Baptist Church and Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Worley; son and daughter in-law, Ray and Hazel Scott, all of LaGrange; daughter in-law, Betty Scott Hardin of West Point; sister and brother in-law, Marthlene and Bill Wood, of LaGrange; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren. Her husband, Willis Richard Scott, died in World War Two; and she was also preceded in death by her son Donald Rex Scott, and her son in-law, Rev. Hubert Worley. Claude A.
