Norman E. (Mac) Womack III, 72, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020, at his home.
Born December 2, 1947, in LaGrange, Mr. Womack was the son of the late Norman E. Womack, Jr. and Frances Strickland Womack. He was a 1966 graduate of Hogansville High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving on a carrier as an aviation electrician. He lived in Jacksonville for almost 50 years and retired as a chemist from Reichhold Chemical. Mr. Womack was a licensed pilot for 56 years, held a commercial rating, and had served as a flight instructor. He was also a licensed boat captain.
He is survived by his sister, Susan Womack McAliley of Hogansville, several cousins and his two adorable cats, Misty and Mandy.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Carolynn Cameron officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45p.m., Friday.
