Mrs. Nobu Yvonne Queen, 60, of Sebring, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Advent Health in Sebring.
Mrs. Queen was born May 16, 1961, in Newnan, lived in Troup and Coweta counties most of her life, and had been a resident of Sebring since 2019. She was Christian by faith, had been employed by Savannah Court of Newnan sharing her heart and jovial spirit before retiring to Florida. Nobu was the Activities Director at Savannah Court Assisted Living of Newnan. During her tenure there she touched many lives. She was caring and loving to all of the residents and staff. She always went the extra mile to help someone. No task was too large or small for Nobu. As a member of the management team her contributions to the operation of the facility were recognized as an asset to the company. Her energy was boundless and her enthusiasm is still felt in the hallways of the community. Not only was Nobu an excellent caregiver, she was a true friend to all. Her love will live on in our hearts forever. Her entire life was spent caring for family, friends, and strangers.
Survivors include her sons, Carlton P. Queen, Jr. and his wife Brittany of Sebring, FL, Michael R. Queen and his wife Brittany of Hogansville; daughter, Nekia G. White and her husband Joseph of Newnan; brother, Stacy Beckom of Newnan; sister, Linda Gail Beckom, also of Newnan; and fourteen grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton P. Queen Sr. and grand daughter, McKenzie Leigh Queen.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 30, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael Watson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
