MRS. NELDA LAVERNE RAILEY Mrs. Nelda Laverne Railey, 71, of Pine Mountain, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Bruce Rendleman officiating. Private interment will be in the Pine Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday. Mrs. Railey was born April 19, 1941, in Salina, Kansas, daughter of the late Quillian Buchanan and Edith Chatman Buchanan. A former resident of LaGrange, she had lived at Pine Mountain for the past two years and was Baptist by faith. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Penny and Anthony Lott of Pine Mountain; sons and daughter in-law, Ronnie Stewart of Hogansville, William and Susan Stewart of Hamilton; sisters, Betty Zimmerman of Witchita, KS, Bernice Wilson and Sharon Taylor, both of LaGrange, Janie Dollar of Hogansville; and grandchildren, James Hembree and Patrick Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Railey; and brothers, James Buchanan, Billy Joe Buchanan, and Randall Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Georgia Hospice. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
