MRS. NADINE THOMAS
Mrs. Nadine Garner Thomas, 92, of Luthersville, died Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Thomas was born September 24, 1921, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Lee Rowe Garner. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County and a member of Luthersville Baptist Church, she was an avid gardener, was a talented seamstress who enjoyed quilting, and is also remembered as an excellent cook.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, JoAnn and Paul Shortsleeve of Sterling, MA, Jane Crews of Jonesboro, Joy and Gerald Martin of Newnan, Judy and James Turpin of Zebulon; son and daughter in-law, Randall and Elaine Thomas of Luthersville; brother, Travis Garner of Newnan; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas, and her son, Lynwood Thomas.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
