Monroe Eugene Hosmer

MR. EUGENE HOSMER Mr. Eugene Hosmer, 75, of Luthersville, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brian Hosmer and the Reverend Bryan Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Tuesday night. Mr. Hosmer was born April 30, 1938, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, son of the late Thomas Monroe Hosmer and Rosie Eaton Hosmer. A resident of Meriwether County for the past 25 years, he was a member of Faith Baptist Church, was a veteran of service in the National Guard, and was retired from Brown Steel Company. He is remembered as a man who had a great love for each member of his family. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Houston Hosmer; son, Sandford Hosmer; daughter, Marie Hosmer, all of Luthersville; sisters and brothers in-law, Virginia and Michael Duchesne, Alice and Paul Whitten, all of Hogansville; and brothers and sister in-law, Jerry Hosmer of Grantville, Bobby and Bernice Hosmer of Murfreesboro, TN. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 9 Tuesday night, December 3rd, at Claude A.
