Miriam Ragsdale Boyd

MRS. MIRIAM R. BOYD Mrs. Miriam Ragsdale Boyd, 87, of Raleigh, NC and formerly of Hogansville and Newnan, died Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Hillside Nursing Center in Wake Forest, NC. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Frank Powers will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Born May 13, 1921, in Chambers county, Alabama, Mrs. Boyd was the daughter of the late Cynthia Johnson Ragsdale and the late Jesse Oslen Ragsdale. She lived in Hogansville most of her life, where she and her late husband, Howard Boyd were charter members of Highland Baptist Church. She lived in Newnan from 1992 until 2002, where she was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church, and had made her home in Raleigh for the past six years. She retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 32 years of service. Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Sandra and Griff Bartlett of Raleigh, NC and Trisha Anderson of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Tava Mae Haynes of Riverview, AL; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Virgil Boyd and Euvene Boyd. The Claude A.McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
