Mildred Christine Veal

Mrs. Mildred C. Veal, age 102 of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Hospice LaGrange.

Born August 17, 1924, in Franklin, Mrs. Veal was the daughter of the late Elsie Whatley and Jesse Lee Collier Tucker. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County and attended Faith Baptist Church in Hogansville. Mrs. Veal loved her family, baking desserts, and sewing. She lived by the word of God and attributed her longevity to her trust in the Lord.

Survivors include her daughter, Charlene (Mike) Stitcher of Woodbury; son, Monroe (Janis) Veal, of Grantville; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Veal was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Veal; daughter; Pearl Knott; son, Lamar Veal; step-father, Grady Tucker; brothers, Wayne Tucker and Billy Tucker; and her sisters, Lola Corley and Bobbie Mason.

The Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Bro. Caleb Veal and Bro. Tyler Bridges will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday evening.
