Mrs. Mildred Gilley Robinson, age 82, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, December 23, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.
Born October 17, 1940 in Hogansville, Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late William Earl Gilley and Gertrude Davis Gilley. She was a lifelong resident of Hogansville, graduated from Hogansville High School Class of 1959, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mrs. Robinson taught sunday school for over 55 years at Antioch Baptist Church and Highland Baptist Church, was a mail carrier in Hogansville for many years, and worked at Belks for many years. She was quickwitted, always had joke to tell, and was a passionate Georgia Bulldogs fan.
Survivors include her granddaughter and grandson in-law, Wendy and Todd Fohrman of Newnan; great-grandchildren, Kendall and Cullen Morehead, McKinley Fohrman, and Jackson Fohrman; great-great-grandchild, Stetson Morehead; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends including, Lori and Wesley Boatman; Jason and Morgan Boatman and their children Betsey and Caroline; Stephen Boatman; Darlice and Rick Goulding; Amy and Keith Layfield; and Brad and Linda Lowery. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Alga Robinson; step-son, Dewayne Robinson; brothers and sisters in-law, Earl and Rebie Gilley, Jack and Peggy Gilley, and Bob and Deidre Gilley; and a sister and brother in-law, Mary and Bradley Lowery.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, at Highland Baptist Church. The Reverend Terry Rainwater and Reverend Wesley Boatman will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Highland Baptist Church from 6 until 8 Thursday evening.
