Mildred Ann Murphy

Mildred Ann Murphy, 75, of Moreland, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Ms. Murphy was born June 22, 1943, in Greenville, daughter of the late Wiley and Pauline Washington Murphy. She was Baptist by faith and had been employed by Playtex International, Dundee Mills and Kason Industries prior to her retirement. She enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the birds in her yard. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Tammy Brown and Frederick Marks of Moreland; sister, Ruth Strickland of Luthersville; brother, John Murphy of Newnan; grandchildren, Tracy Tidwell, Shannon Hefner, Travis Brown; and great-grandchildren, Haley Steele, Amanda Banks, Karmen Whitmire, Brandon Gibson, Jr., Lilly West. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Eugene (Tommy) Brown. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
