Mr. Michael Joe Daniel, 65, of Luthersville, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Daniel was born October 7, 1950, in LaGrange, son of the late Rufus B. Daniel, Sr. and Edna Bass Daniel. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, he lived in LaGrange most of his life and retired from AT&T after 36 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and was an avid fly fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Daniel of Luthersville; daughter Katie Daniel of Atlanta; sons and daughters in-law, Brad and Cheri Daniel of Blairsville, Russell and Shirley Solano of Greenville; brother, Ken Daniel of LaGrange; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Hopson and Erlene Anger; and brothers, Raymond Daniel, Rufus B. Daniel, Jr., Floyd Daniel, and Don Daniel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, December 19, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with military honors. The Reverend Lanny Sledge will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Meriwether County Animal Shelter.
