MELVIN DWAYNE GADDY Mr. Melvin Dwayne Gaddy, 51, of Newnan, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Brad Brimlow will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8, Sunday night. Mr. Gaddy was born December 29, 1961, in Atlanta, son of the late Melvin Sanford Gaddy and Jane Roberts Gaddy. A lifelong resident of Coweta County, he was Baptist by faith, was employed as a truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Line, and had also served as a police officer for the City of Grantville. Survivors include his step-children, Kelley Miller of Grantville, Chad Bishop and Kevin Bishop, both of LaGrange; sisters and brother in-law, Mary Jane Chipman of Franklin, Cindy and Randall Belcher of Newnan; brother and sister in-law, Scott and Sherry Gaddy of Newnan; seven step-grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kristi Dawn Gaddy; and brother, Rodney S. Gaddy. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
