SUZANNE COOK
Maxine Suzanne Cook, 67, of Hogansville, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at her home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Rance Sprayberry will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Cook was born February 22, 1943,in Green Cove Springs, Florida, daughter of the late Ovelle McCullough Clerke and the late John Clerke. A resident of Hogansville since 1974, she received her bachelors and masters degrees from LaGrange College and was a retired high school science teacher, having taught primarily in the Hogansville School System. She was an active civic leader, serving on the City Council and serving two terms as Mayor of Hogansville, and was a former member and past president of Hogansville Pilot Club and Hogansville Kiwanis Club. Ms. Cook was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville, and was the director of the Hogansville SHARE Program.
Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, John and Carla Cook; grandson, Josh Cook; step-grandchildren, Danielle Bonner, Brooke Bonner, and Jordan Bonner, all of Hogansville; and sister, Jane Fosler of St. George, Utah.
