Max David Rawlins

MR. MAX D. RAWLINS Mr. Max D. Rawlins, 85, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at his home. Mr. Rawlins was born November 25, 1929, in Colby, Kansas, son of the late Leonard William Rawlins and Grace Payne Rawlins. A U. S. Navy veteran of World War Two and the Korean War, he was a graduate of South Georgia College in Douglas and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in Atlanta. He was a Mason and a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Hogansville. Mr. Rawlins enjoyed traveling and he and his wife had visited all of the 48 contiguous states and all Canadian provinces. Survivors include his wife, Edna Rawlins of Hogansville; daughters, Karan Rawlins of Tifton, Renee′ Rawlins of Hogansville, Jody Lee Daughtrey of Bethany, OK; son and daughter in-law, Patrick and Connie Daughtrey of Jacksonville, FL; 12 grandchildren and a grandchild who preceded him in death; and 22 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Harrison Cain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 176, Hogansville, GA 30230; or to a favorite charity of the donor. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
