Mavis Hill Dollar

Mrs. Mavis Hill Dollar, 87, of the Harrisonville Community of Troup County, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs. Dollar was born May 3, 1930, in Heard County, daughter of the late Frank and Lera Morgan Hill. A resident of Harrisonville most of her life, she was a charter member of Harrisonville Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell. She enjoyed gardening and fishing, but caring for and being with her family was the most important part of her life. Survivors include her son, Jack L. Dollar of Hogansville; grandchildren, Brannon Dollar of Woodstock, Angela and Joe Hamilton, and Julie Dollar, all of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Bailee Hamilton, Lily Hamilton, Paige Pannell, Brayden Dollar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack S. Dollar; son, Frank C. Dollar; and sister, Vivian Betts. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Mr. Eddie Wood and Reverend Eddie Perry will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
