Mavis Helton Bowden

MRS. MAVIS BOWDEN Mrs. Mavis Helton Bowden, 76, of Grantville, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend F.D. McWhorter and the Reverend L. B. Rooks will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. Born June 30, 1931, in Coweta county, Mrs. Bowden was the daughter of the late Arthur Reese Helton and the late Mattie Belle Flournoy Helton. She was a lifelong resident of Coweta county, was retired from Georgia Screen Printers in Newnan, and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Newnan. She is remembered for the great love she had for her family and for the care that she gave to those in need. Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Ann Robertson of Newnan, and Debra Payton and Gale and Marshall White, all of Grantville; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Bowden; her daughter, Marsha Pettite; and her son, Gary Bowden. The Claude A.
