MRS. VAYNELL SMITH Mrs. Mattie Vaynell Smith, 69, of Hogansville, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, at Corinth Baptist Church. The Reverend Milton Hall and the Reverend Rodney Wilburn will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Monday night. Mrs. Smith was born January 12, 1943, in Guntersville, Alabama, daughter of the late John Vernon Masters and Alma Bearden Masters. A former resident of Albertville, Alabama, she had lived in Heard County for nineteen years and was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Leisa and Bobby Smith of Hogansville, and Kim Powers; sons and daughters in-law, Darryl and Donna Garrison of Hogansville, Marty and Derae Short of Buchanan, and Rodney and Suzette Smith; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Smith, Sr., and grandson, Marty Lee Short. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Baptist Church. Claude A.
