Mattie Louise Gaddy

May 7, 1949 — October 26, 2022

Mattie Louise "LouLou" Gaddy, 73, of Hogansville, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 26, 2022.

Preceded in death by her husband, Arnold "Preacher" Gaddy; sons, Bobby Glenn Gaddy and Wesley Wayne Gaddy; and grandson, Lucas Wayne Gaddy, Louise was born May 7, 1949, in Heard County, daughter of the late James Brockman Hammett and Ethel Thomaston Hammett Wagner. She and Preacher were married for 53 glorious years and her proudest accomplishment was being his wife and the mother to his four children and grandmother to their children and great-grandchildren.

In her lifetime, Louise was employed at Hanes Hosiery, LaGrange Plastics, and ended her career as a PROUD Certified Nursing Assistant at Wesley Woods of Newnan, where she retired after many years of service.

She enjoyed life and loved to GO GO GO and was always ready for any adventure to include visiting the mountains and cruising, and her favorite pastime of riding the Harley with Preacher, just to name a few. Many will remember her as a "dancing queen" as she was always dancing the night away and many times you would catch her on tabletops and chairs. She was an enthusiastic member of the Boot Scoot Dancers.

She leaves behind her daughter, Pamela Wegienka (Keith): son, Chad Gaddy (Kippi): daughter in-law, Denise Gaddy: 19 grandchildren: 17 great grandchildren, and a host of special family members that includes in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.

The family offers a very special thank you to her niece, Tami Webb, for always being there for their dear mother and father.
