MRS. MATTIE SUE DIX Mrs. Mattie Sue Dix, 91, of Greenville, died Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Warm Springs Nursing Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Morris Lewark and the Reverend Ed White will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Mrs. Dix was born May 22, 1919, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Jim and Mattie Belle Davis O'Neal. She was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County, was a member of Primrose United Methodist Church, and was an expert quilter. For many years, she assisted her late husband Roy Dix, in the operation of Midway Grocery. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Suzanne and Larry Ingram of Greenville; sister, Ruby Etheridge, also of Greenville; grandchildren, David Shelnutt, Joe Shelnutt, and Tracy Edwards; and four great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Tuesday night, May 17th, at Claude A.
