Mary Ann Smith

Mrs. Mary Ann Smith, 73, of Grantville, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Smith was born April 24, 1945, in Grantville, daughter of the late Harold and Zilla Farr O'Neal. A lifelong resident of Grantville, she assisted her husband in the operation of Raymond Smith Cabinet Shop and was a loving mother who considered caring for her children and grandchildren to be her most important work. She was a member of Grantville First Baptist Church for 67 years before becoming a member of Moreland First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Smith; sons, Ray Smith, Jr. and his wife Pam, Neal Smith and his wife Cassie, Ashley Smith and his wife Beth; sister, Shirley and George McCarty; brother, Paul and Barbara O'Neal; grandchildren, Catherine Coleman, Holly Ann White, Andrew Smith, Junior Smith, Jacob Smith, Will Smith; and great-grandson, Jackson Coleman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Wayne O'Neal and Edwin O'Neal. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with Dr. George Dillard and the Reverend Stacey Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night.
