MRS. MARY S. RAY
Mrs. Mary Sistrunk Ray, 87, of Villa Rica, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Durand. The Reverend Louise Elmore, the Reverend Ed White and Mr. Bob Sistrunk will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 10 until 11 Saturday morning and immediately after the service.
Mrs. Ray was born January 15, 1924, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late James Thomas Sistrunk and the late Annie Banda Beverly Sistrunk. A resident of the Atlanta area for many years, she returned to make her home in Greenville in the early 1980's, after her retirement from Acousti Engineering Company. She was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church, was the wife of the late James C. Ray, and had lived at Villa Rica for the past fifteen years.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Elaine and Frank Bomar of Villa Rica and Janice and Russell Nunan of Richmond, TX; five grandchildren, William Bomar, Robert Bomar, Cara Nunan Frank, Julie Nunan, Lori Nunan Shaw; and six great-grandchildren.
