Mary Frances Mclendon

Mrs. Mary Frances McLendon, 90, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at her home. Mrs. McLendon was born January 20, 1930, in Hartwell, daughter of the late Lee Holcombe and Bertha White Holcombe Brock, and one of thirteen children. A resident of Meriwether County for the past three years, she lived in Clayton County for sixty years, was Baptist by faith, and retired from the Clayton County Board of Education. She enjoyed cooking and especially loved to host family get-togethers. Survivors include her son, Charles Patterson of Hogansville; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Eunice Abbott of Lula and Sue Jones of Locust Grove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee "Joe" McLendon; and her sons, Timothy Lee McLendon and Walter Anthony McLendon. A family memorial gathering at the home of her son is being planned . Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
