MRS. MARY McCOLLUM Mrs. Mary Powers McCollum, 98, of Grantville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Newnan Hospital Nursing and Rehab Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Frank Powers, the Reverend Daniel Ausbun, and the Reverend Jimmy Evans will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. Born April 17, 1911, in Coweta County, Mrs. McCollum was the daughter of the late Jim and Lizzie Osborne Powers. She was a lifelong resident of Coweta County and a member of Grantville First Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters and son in-law, June and Robert Nash of Grantville and Betty Duffey of Blairsville; daughter in-law, Lourette McCollum of Hogansville; sister, Sue Bishop of Smyrna; grandsons and their wives, Hugh and Alice Nash of Grantville, Dennis and Kelly Nash of Winston-Salem, NC, Claude and Myra Duffey of Blairsville, Steve and Debbie Duffey of Abingdon, MD; a great-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Hugh McCollum, and her sons, John Edward McCollum and Peter White McCollum. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Wednesday night, June 17th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Grantville Cemetery
