Mary Purgason Haynes

Mrs. Mary Purgason Haynes, 96, of the Corinth Community of Heard County, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Hospice LaGrange.

Mrs. Haynes was born June 26, 1928, in Coweta County, daughter of the late O.E. Purgason and Callie Belle Gaddy Purgason. A lifelong resident of Corinth, she was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and retired from Playtex International in Newnan after 39 years of service.

Survivors include her son, Donald Haynes of Corinth; grandchildren, Mike Webb and his wife Michelle of Hamilton, Jimmy Haynes and his wife Mandy of LaGrange, Kelly Prickett and her husband Rodney of Pine Mountain, and Dereck Haynes of Hogansville; seven great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Green Haynes; daughter, Mary Jane Webb; sons, Jerry Wayne Haynes and Roger David Haynes; and five brothers.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Eddie Wood will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22.
