Mary O'Neal Hamilton

MRS. MARY HAMILTON Mrs. Mary O'Neal Hamilton, 90, of Hogansville, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Bill Deakins and the Reverend Clinton Hughes will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Johnson, Joey McCartney, Jeff McCartney, Andrew Strickland, Tim Smith, and Kevin Carter. Stacy Cauthen will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Born December 18, 1918, in Gay, Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of the late Tollison Kirby O'Neal and the late Lizzie Mae Jones O'Neal. She lived in Hogansville most of her life and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Hogansville until her illness. Survivors include her daughters, Lavonia Jackson of Douglasville, Kirby McCartney of LaGrange, and Jeannette Johnson of Hogansville; sister, Virginia O. Lunsford of LaGrange; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Allen Hamilton; brother, J. W. O'Neal; and son in-law, Bob Jackson. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Tuesday night, December 30th, at Claude A.
