MISS MARY KATHRYN GILLESPIE Miss Mary Kathryn Gillespie, 94, of Hogansville, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, at the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. The Reverend Clinton Hughes and the Reverend Bill Deakins will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 6 until 8 Friday evening. Miss Gillespie was born February 29, 1920, in Chambers County, Alabama, daughter of the late Ernest O. Gillespie and Pearl Dyer Gillespie. She had lived in Hogansville since 1937, retired from The Citizens Bank of Hogansville after more than 50 years of service, and was a member of the Georgia Bankers Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hogansville, where she was a longtime member of the choir and served as treasurer for many years. She is survived by her sister in Christ, Mavis Moore Garrett of Hogansville; and several cousins. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
