Mrs. Mary Laster Bruce, 91, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Blue Skies Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mrs. Bruce was born February 5, 1928, daughter of the late Willie Thomas Laster and Geneva Bradley Laster. A resident of LaGrange for more than 70 years, she was employed by Bank of America prior to her retirement, was a longtime member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and now Fountain Church, and was a member of Laureate Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed travel, reading, crossword puzzles, and game shows.
Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Faye and Clinton Sledge of LaGrange, Paula Osterhoudt of Las Vegas; sisters, Linda and Gene Ayers of Hogansville, Grace Cagle of New London, TX; brother, Ed and Barbara Laster of Snellville; a grandson, Alan Osterhoudt; granddaughters, Laura Guinn and her husband Robert, Suzanne Laubenthal and her husband Tom; and a great-grandchild, Brady Guinn. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Bruce.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
