MRS. MARY K. ALLEN Mrs. Mary Kate Allen, 98, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Twin Fountains Home in LaGrange. Mrs. Allen was born December 6, 1916, in Randolph County, Alabama, daughter of the late Mark and Lizzie Camp Haynes. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 38 years of service. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Donald and Raye Lynn Allen of Vinton, VA; son in-law, Ed Friend, Sr. of Hogansville; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Elbert Allen; daughter, Glenda Faye Friend; and sons, James Kenneth Allen and Elbert Eugene Allen. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeff McCartney will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Claude A.
