MR. WAYNE SHIFLETT Mr. Wayne Shiflett, 68, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at The Medical Center in Columbus. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night. Mr. Shiflett was born July 31, 1943, in Alabama, son of the late Sam and Ruby Guffey Shiflett. He lived in Troup County most of his life, was a Volkswagen mechanic for many years, and retired from the LaGrange Fire Department after 18 years service. He was a member of Providence Bible Church. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Sherrie and Lee Foster of Grantville; sons and daughter in-law, Steven Shiflett of Hogansville, Rodney and Linda Shiflett of LaGrange; sisters, Patricia Williams of LaGrange, Linda Brown and Wanda Bell, both of Alabama; brother, David Shiflett of LaGrange; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
