MR. MARVIN COOK
Mr. Marvin Cook, age 77, of Newnan, departed this life in peace on December 6, 2010, at Savannah Court Assisted Living Facility, after an extended illness.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 8, at Bethlehem Baptist Church at Newnan, with the Reverend Mike White and the Reverend Jimmy Evans officiating.
Mr. Cook was born April 23, 1933, in Stricklandtown, son of the late William Willie Cook and the late Maude Strickland Cook. He served in the U. S. Army in the Korean Conflict from 1953 until 1955. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be remembered for his dedication to his wife of 57 years, Mary Ann Staley Cook. He will also be remembered for his many years of dedicated Christian service at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mr. Cook served in the Coweta County Volunteer Fire Department and was the first Chief at the Moreland Volunteer Fire Department in the 1970's. He will be dearly missed and affectionately remembered by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Mary Ann Staley Cook; his daughter, Angela Moore and her husband Charles; his daughter, Alicia McLain and her husband Ricky; his son, Christopher Cook and his wife Maria; his grandchildren, Joshua Moore and his wife Annette, Charlsie Corbin and her husband Andrew, Hillary Moore and her fiance Nathan Metts, Heather Beach and her husband Justin, Ryan and Katie Cook; his great-grandchildren, Landon and Warren Moore, Maisi and Ashlynne Corbin; brother, Bill Cook; and sisters, Estene Boykin and Ava Nell Bell.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Savannah Court Assisted Living Facility, or Bethlehem Baptist Church, 2194 W. Grantville Rd., Newnan, GA.
